Introduction
Jupiter leaves Cancer on June 30 after spending a year there. Most astrologers spoke about the blessings of Jupiter exalted in Cancer: abundance, protection, family, belonging. But there are other sides of Jupiter in Cancer, rarely spoken of.
Cancer is the feminine lineage. It is the mother, the bloodline, the land itself. During Jupiter’s passage through Cancer, nationalism and protectionism surged across the world: the protection of my land, my people, my family. Jupiter, the “protector”.
Yet Cancer is also the archetype of the mother and the child. It speaks of what is nurtured, what is sheltered, and what is kept behind the walls of the home. Jupiter represents the law, justice, and the institutions meant to protect them.
Jupiter does not only expand what is good. It expands whatever it touches, and with Cancer, it can also reveal what can happen inside of the nest. When the place that should be the safest is where the harm happens. When the one meant to protect becomes the predator.
As Steven Forrest once said, Jupiter in Cancer can be “devoured by family”. A signature my own Moon-Pluto translated as potential for incest in the evolutionary chart: The ogre in the nursery.
Jupiter in Cancer awakened these stories. It exposed what families, institutions, and nations bury: the abuse of women and children, and the ways legal systems have failed to protect them while shielding those entrusted with protection who became predators.
The charts of France and the United States reveal this story with remarkable clarity across Jupiter’s journey through Cancer and soon to come Leo.
The Signature
Two charts became my teachers very early in my astrology studies.
When I was in the FCEA, we worked on the chart of Muhammad Ali. He had Mercury on the Descendant, on the 6th House side. What stayed with me from his biography was a pattern of being attracted to very young girls. His biographer Jonathan Eig describes sexual contact with girls as young as twelve. Ali fathered a child with sixteen-year-old Wanda Bolton while he was married, and married his second wife, Belinda, at seventeen.
Mercury is youth, children. On the Descendant, it becomes relationship. In the 6th House, it speaks of inequality. The child placed on the relationship axis, in the House of unequal bonds. And his Jupiter in Gemini squared the Nodes: The Mercury archetype again, and Jupiter, remember the ogre.
That chart never left me. Ever since, a Mercury placed in a configuration that speaks about sexuality or relationship has been a red flag I cannot unsee.
The second chart that taught me was my very first client. She had a South Node in Leo in the 8th House, and 8th House South Nodes are signatures for heavy karma and stories of abuse. She also had a tight Cancer stellium in the 7th House: Chiron, Jupiter, and the Moon. Pluto in Scorpio squared the Nodes from the 11th House. Uranus-Aquarius-11th House is a trauma signature in the evolutionary chart.

I was a very young astrologer, inexperienced. But I have always had a strong eye for patterns, especially the ones no one wants to look at. I knew there was something in that chart I could not yet name.
Then it came. The incest.
And I was right. Unfortunately.
Once you have seen these signatures in a person’s chart, you cannot unsee them in a nation’s chart.
Hold those two signatures for what’s following.
The United States: The Chart Behind the Chart
The American natal chart contains a remarkably similar signature. Jupiter’s passage through Cancer has illuminated the 8th House of the national chart, exposing a buried system around power, youth, and sexual exploitation. The Epstein revelations have been one of the visible expressions of what Jupiter has been unveiling.
The North Node sits in Leo in the 8th House. Hold that next to the client’s signature above, who carried her South Node in Leo in the 8th House. The same axis.
The ruler of the South Node, Uranus, sits in Gemini on the Descendant, on the 6th House side. (this should remind you of Muhammad Ali’s chart) Mars is in Gemini in the 7th House. And then comes the Cancer stellium: Venus, Jupiter, Sun in the 7th House and Mercury in the 8th House.
Are you beginning to hear the archetypes speaking?
The chart behind the chart: the architecture of the hidden.
The same two signatures that appeared in the earlier charts appear together again.
The 8th House: taboo, sex, abuse, exploitation, trade, other people’s resources. Mercury: youth, children. Cancer: the family, the tribe, the feminine lineage. Leo: power, status, the elite.
The potential for the pattern is already present in the natal chart.
Then Jupiter walked into Cancer and lit the whole Cancer archetype up.
June 2025 — Jupiter enters Cancer, conjunct natal Venus in the 7th House.
Early July 2025 — Jupiter return.
Early August 2025 — Jupiter crosses the Sun at 12° Cancer, ruler of the North Node.
During the summer of 2025, the conservatism face of Cancer was being exposed: the nationalism, protectionism, borders, tribe, and belonging. The immigration and customs enforcement system became one of the first visible expressions of Jupiter’s passage through Cancer, as deportations, borders, and aggressive enforcement practices moved to the center of the national conversation.
November 2025 — Jupiter reached Mercury and stationed at 25° Cancer, directly on natal Mercury at 24° Cancer.
December 2025 — the first phase of the rollout of the Epstein files.
January 2026 — the Department of Justice releases millions of pages related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigations.
Jupiter first exposed the nationalist and protectionist face of Cancer. Then it reached Mercury and turned toward another Cancer story: the feminine and the clan.
Jupiter came to expose the buried material of the 8th House: The nursery becomes the national house.
The same wound. A bigger room.
The harm coming from inside the house that was supposed to be safe.
The protector turned predator becomes the institution itself.
Of course, more transits joined forces here. One has to be mentioned. In January 2026, as the files broke, the United States was moving through its Chiron return in Aries in the 4th House, Cancer territory again, with Jupiter squaring it retrograde.
And there it is: the archetype we were missing: Aries.
The leader. The virile aggressor. The sexuality of Mars. The masculine that takes.
Which is exactly where France’s chart begins.
The Nation Between Aries and Libra: France’s Chart Under Pressure
France rises in Aries. Its South Node is also in Aries, in the 12th House, another hidden house. The virile aggressor, the Mars sexuality the United States carried into its Chiron return, is not only the face France shows the world. It is embedded in the nodal story itself, the karmic pattern shaping the nation’s identity. The aggressor is both the mask and the inheritance.
Here is the tragedy written into the chart.
France carries a Libra stellium — the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and the North Node — in the 6th House: the appearance of harmony and beauty laid over the House of service at its lowest, the House of oppression. France performs Libra: sophistication, seduction, refinement, the appearance of equality as vanity. Yet beneath it, the Aries South Node continues to act out the pattern of the virile aggressor, buried in the 12th.
Add the Moon in Cancer at the IC, squaring the Nodes: the silenced feminine lineage at the very floor of the chart. The bloodline. Nationalism. The obsession with who belongs and who does not.
Then, in the 7th House, the core: Jupiter conjunct Neptune in Scorpio.
Boundaryless sexuality. Abuse. Secrecy. Power. The hidden. Jupiter in Scorpio can even suggest sexual insatiability. And all of it placed in the House of relationship, with the law entangled in what it conceals.
This is the architecture that built the silence.
Where the United States keeps its taboo buried in the 8th House behind a respectable, conservative Cancer 7th House, France runs it through the Scorpio 7th House, almost as a point of pride for an Aries rising and Aries South Node.
That is the chart France’s 5th Republic was born with.
And right now, every outer planet is striking it at once.
Pluto first came to square France’s natal Neptune and now squares natal Jupiter at 5° Scorpio, exposing the sexual ogre contained in the 7th House.
Remember the United States’ Mercury at 24° Cancer. France’s Moon is at 21° Cancer. Jupiter transited the natal Moon at the IC three times, and stationed while squaring the Ascendant, activating the skipped step and the karmic axis. The buried feminine at the very bottom of the chart was being expanded, caught between Aries, the combative masculine, and Libra, the vanity that wants to keep appearances.
Jupiter expanded the feminine lineage story. What used to be hidden became public. The same Jupiter in Cancer that lit Mercury in the American 8th House came here and lit the Moon in France’s chart.
Stories began coming out from everywhere. Famous men falling one after another.
Saturn, from the 12th House, was also hitting the Libra placements one by one, asking for accountability. Soon it will sit on the Aries South Node itself: the karmic weight of the aggressor past arriving as a bill that has come due.
Neptune opposing natal Venus dissolves the glamour around what was normalized for decades.
Chiron stationed on both the Ascendant and the South Node.
Uranus, conjunct natal Mars in Gemini, shocked the intellectual value system awake. At the same time, it squared France’s natal Pluto in Virgo, dismantling a whole system of power built around the repression of the weaker.
The shadow structure of the nation was triggered at its root.
The whole chart was being hit at once and the emotional body of a nation was breaking its silence.
Then, in June, came the Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Cancer.
The blessing.
A blessing squaring the Ascendant and the South Node within the astrological climate we have just described. At the same time, Mars, the timer, entered Taurus and formed a T-square to natal Chiron in Aquarius in the 11th House and Uranus in Leo in the 5th House.
The spark that lit the fire.
Eleven-year-old Lyhanna was killed by a man who had been released despite seven prior complaints against him, one for child molestation. His father and brother also appeared in the investigation, and dozens of warnings from the United States concerning child sexual material found on his computer had gone unanswered.
France erupted.
More than 280 towns took to the streets.
And at the same time, stories of incest and child abuse came flooding out.
Families breaking decades of silence. A deep abscess finally opening.
Justice was being forced to return to its purpose: to protect those most in need instead of shielding predators within families, institutions, and positions of power.
Jupiter, the law, was being asked to protect Cancer: women, children, and the feminine lineage.
France in the street singing I accuse you and I assume it was the French sound of the Blessing Venus-Jupiter in Cancer in 2026: Women coming together demanding justice.
A change in the justice system that had protected hierarchy, patriarchy, and masculine power.
The list of stories that emerged is too long to include here, but Patrick Bruel is one striking example. One of France’s most famous singers, he has Neptune at 5° Scorpio in the 5th House, the same degree as France’s chart Jupiter, and is therefore undergoing the same Pluto transit. As this article is being written, he is being accused of sexual assault by around sixty women, and he went into jail custody during the Venus-Jupiter conjunction.
Epstein began building his network in Paris because he understood the culture would protect the demand.
This is Medusa rising. The New moon in Taurus of May 16th on Medusa’s head and Ceres had started a movement.
The buried feminine speaking through generations of women.
The Cancer lineage finding its voice.
The justice system finally being forced to listen. And shame finally changing sides.
The pressure will not release until the structure gives. France’s natal chart will continue to be under pressure until Pluto completes its final square to natal Jupiter in November 2027.
My view is that by then, France’s justice system around boundaryless sexuality, abuse, secrecy, and power is likely to have undergone profound transformation.
Pluto in Aquarius.
Revolution through the people.
Transforming: what Pluto inevitably does.
The Ogre Changes Masks
Where Jupiter expanded stories, Mercury retrograde rewrites them.
When Jupiter leaves Cancer and enters Leo at the end of June, Mercury turns retrograde behind it. Mercury is the scribe of this reckoning: the voice, the testimony, the record. Retrograde, it goes back. It reopens the file. It rehears what was dismissed the first time. It rewrites the story.
And the story is the feminine lineage: Cancer.
Mercury retraces almost the exact same journey Jupiter had just made, retrograding from 26° to 16° Cancer. It stations at 26° Cancer, one degree from where Jupiter stationed, directly on the United States’ Mercury at 24° Cancer in the 8th House, while simultaneously squaring France’s Ascendant.
But the reckoning does not end when Jupiter leaves Cancer.
Jupiter does not stop devouring. It changes its face.
In Leo, the Ogre is no longer the devouring force within the family. It becomes the devouring king, the elite, the one who believed himself above the law. The archetype climbs the hierarchy. And, for the first time, it confronts the Law itself.
On September 11, it conjoins France’s Uranus in the 5th House and opposes Chiron in Aquarius. The king will confront the revolution in the streets.
On November 11, Mars and Jupiter gather with the transiting South Node in Leo, opposing the Moon in Aquarius in the American chart. Once again, the axis is the same in both nations: Leo against Aquarius. The elite against the people. France’s Chiron, the wound carried into the streets. America’s Moon, the body of the nation. We the People. The same Aquarian voices continue speaking back.
Then Venus turns retrograde. Three times, she crosses France’s Jupiter and Neptune in Scorpio in the 7th House. The story returns to the place where relationship meets sexuality, secrecy, power and the ogre. Scorpio is asked to heal what Scorpio once concealed.
Venus ends her retrograde in Libra and stations direct on France’s North Node, bringing the story back to the nation’s evolutionary path: the scales of justice and equality. And at the same time square the natal Mercury of the US’s chart. Potentially Justice demanded for the victims of the Epstein files.
The reckoning that began in Cancer moves from the family to the throne, from the institution to the elite that believed themselves above the law. The law confronts the systems first, where it failed to protect, and then it confronts the king.
The story isn’t over.
The Ogre has simply changed masks.
